Puppy Process

Been a While Since You worked with a Breeder?

We know working with a breeder can be a little weird, maybe you haven’t done it in a while or maybe you’ve never worked with a breeder. Whatever the case, it’s not problem!

As a breeder, my success is not based on if I can sell all my puppies or if I make a profit, sure that plays into it, but truly, my success is based on your success. If you are successful with your puppy–not just in taking it home, but for the lifetime of the dog–then I’m successful. I want my owners to have the most amazing dog, a dog that makes their friends a little jealous, a dog who is always there, through thick and thin, but also a dog that is a joy to have around.

By working with you to understand your needs and desires in a dog, I can help you pick out the right puppy for you and your family, allowing you to have a head start on success. When you work with a breeder, you get me for life, I’m always there for you … don’t worry though, I respect the dog is yours and I won’t bug you, I’ll just be there if and when you need me. I’m on your team.

Our Goals

Breed Amazing Dogs

The best first step is to fill out the puppy application. This gives us a starting place for conversation. There is no pass or fail on the application, it just helps us better understand what you are looking for so we can discuss with you!

Understand & Support Our Buyers

After the application, we’ll discuss your lifestyle and preferences in a pup, this way I’ll be able to make some notes on what type of pup is ideal for you! When we contact you after the application, we’ll discuss all this and any questions you have.

Match the Family to the Right Pup

Once you know you want a dog from our breeding program, let us know and we’ll send you our contract to review and sign and then you can place a deposit. This officially locks you in on the waitlist.  When the puppies are 4-5 weeks old we’ll start temperament testing and help you choose the best puppy for you!

How Much Does a Puppy Cost?

Our puppies are $800. A $200 deposit will lock in your spot on the waitlist and then only $600 due at pick up!

The deposit is 50% refundable, no questions asked, the other half we keep as part of managing the waitlist. You are not required to get the first available puppy and your deposit can be bumped to the next litters if timing doesn’t fit or the type of puppy you’re looking for wasn’t born. We try to make it easy.

How Does Your Waitlist Work?

We organize our waitlist based on a first-come-first-serve basis, based on when the contract is signed and deposit received, whichever comes last. We separate our waitlists based on sex, so whether you want a male or female, or if you are open to either. We also can designate you on a certain litter if you prefer.

We will never send you home with a dog you don’t want, so if you don’t like the dogs that are available to you, we can just bump you to the next litter! This can happen if a particular color or pattern is important to you. With the smaller litters, average of 4 puppies, sometimes the colors and patterns aren’t always what we prefer, although we do our best to help you sort that ahead of time with the statistical probability. Of course, we believe temperament is the key to success, so if we find there is a puppy we think would be perfect for you and your family, we’ll let you know, despite the color!

What’s Included?

Every breeder does things a little different. As a breeder our goal is to make the process of getting a puppy, everything from selection, education, and preparation, to the actual transition with your puppy at home, as easy as possible. This is why we’ve included the following things. Somethings are there to show you we have covered our bases, while other things help you work with the finer details of buying a puppy. If we can make your life easy, we know it’ll be easier for you to give one of our puppies a wonderful home.

Our success is your success.

This is what we include with our dogs:

AKC Registration

Our dogs all come with limited AKC Registration (no breeding rights), we pay for the registration, but you get to select the name! Full AKC breeding rights are available for an additional price, but it comes with first pick in the litter!

Some dogs are available for UKC Registration for an additional fee.

Lifetime Support

I’m always here to help you. You can always contact me and I’ll be on your team to find a solution. I don’t expect perfection, I know these dogs can be a little…quirky. My goal is to help you find a flow with your puppy that works with your life, so it’s positive for all!

Contract

We use a simple contract. Our goal with our contract is to help you understand what you can expect from us and what we hope you’ll follow through on with your pupppy. When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll ask you to review and sign before placing a deposit.

Puppy-Prep Email Series

We’ve written a series of emails, with links, to help you get started with you puppy, everything from figuring out dog food, where to get it, and what to feed, to deworming, to housetraining, and much more!

Litter Box Trained

While it’s not quite as cool as using a litter box with cats, we do use a litter box in the puppy pen to help the puppies get started on learning how to house train. This should make things easier for you and your pup transitioning to your home!

Tails Docked & Dewclaws Removed

We dock tails and remove dewclaws in accordance with breed standard. We’ve seen a lot of discussion over this and feel it is the right answer for our families, having a dog that is easier to manage and more likely to be taken everywhere with you!

Herbal Dewormer

After trying both chemical and natural deworming products, we’ve opted to use natural dewormer. We have found it more effective as a dewormer, but also doesn’t have any of the negative side effects often seen from chemical dewormers.

Microchip

We microchip all of our puppies with an internationally recognized microchip. This is prepaid and good for life, no subscriptions for you! We will put the microchip in your name when you pick up the puppy, so you are covered from the start!

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are complete as are age-appropriate for the puppy. We have careful vaccination protocol that we developed with our vet. We even have a handout to help you understand the window of susceptibility and when your puppy is safe with vaccines.
