Meet Our Family
Meet the People Behind the Pups!
We are very lucky that we are a family operation. Truly, while I was the one who started breeding, it’s a family affair and I couldn’t do this without the help of Bill & the kids. I’ll share a little about us and how we are a part of the puppy process.
I’m Julie, I’m mom and you’ll be talking to me when we discuss your ideal puppy and all your questions about the process or our breeding program. I am the one who edits the website and I am the primary puppy pen cleaner.
Nice to meet you!

Dakotah – Master Feeder & Puppy Whelper
Dakotah has always been a big help when it came to our rat terrier program. She and Rosie, our foundation mama dog, were thick as thieves when Dakotah was little. She was always more Dakotah’s dog than anyone else’s. She has always had a knack for noticing if anything is off with the dogs and she usually knows what to do.
Today Dakotah is in charge of all the feeding of the adult dogs, she knows exactly who needs what, and keeps me posted on the process. She’s also a rockstar at socializing the puppies, taking them and holding them while she does her homeschool classes online.
When we are whelping, Dakotah is always there, helping me and keeping an eye out on the pups. She’s even whelped a few litters on her own!
Hunter – Master Waterer & Puppy Socializer
Hunter has always been caring and gentle with animals, even when he was in his destructive toddler years. When he was 5 years old, we got Kyle our foundation stud. Hunter, at 5, diligently took Kyle out every few hours when we first brought him home as a puppy and house trained him.
Today Hunter is in charge of all the watering, making sure all the buckets and water dishes are always full. The poor kid is the one who usually gets dirtiest with the dogs, as he’s the one who get soaked and then jumped on.
Hunter loves to take a puppy and have it sit with him while he’s watching YouTube shorts or in his math class online. We love how much our puppies get handled, it really makes them sweet dogs who love people.
Bill – Roadtrip Warrior
It’s debatable whether or not Bill really knew what he was getting into when he got with a dog breeder. However, he’s a part of it now. He’s been wonderful in supporting my habits, everything from helping me plan out puppy pens and kennels, to letting me use the Arizona room as my whelping den (I love it as it’s right off the kitchen).
One time Bill was a Bear Paw Hero when I found Joey, one of our studs, but he happened to be in Colorado, where Bill had been working. That incredible man drove the few hours to the breeder and drove all the way home (13 hours) to bring him to me that weekend. He’s a roadtrip warrior.
He’s secretly the favorite of the lady dogs, too, even though I feed them, they always choose his lap first on the couch at night.🙄
